It’s simple: at Full Court Press we serve exceptional speciality coffee provided with honest, informative and, above all, welcoming service.
For us honesty is key. We aim to be both clear and transparent about the drinks we serve and the way we serve them. With every cup we highlight the unique flavours that showcase not only the terroir, but the effect of every step along the production chain, from picking to brewing. It is through this open attitude that we feel we can best highlight the work of everyone involved in coffee production.
ACCESS
Accessibility is important to us. Not just access to the best coffees and service, but access in the truest sense of the word: being open and available to as many members of our society as is possible. Speciality coffee shouldn't be for the few, those who are “in the know” or coffee connoisseurs. It is to be shared by all, irrespective of race, creed, gender identity, ability or how one defines oneself.
We realise that nothing is perfect, our space is small and oddly shaped, but we are constantly looking at ways to remove barriers to access and are always open to feedback. With a folding ramp available, we are able to accommodate buggies and chairs.

Why is your menu different?
Because we are constantly changing our coffee on offer! Variety is key here at FCP. It is our goal to showcase the full range of the coffee spectrum. You will find us brewing coffees of rare varieties and origins with complex flavours, alongside easier drinking and more traditional coffees that constitute the bulk of a producer’s crop.
Our menu boards highlight the two espresso and two filter options that are available at all times. Some coffees are roasted by us, and some by other speciality coffee roasters that we know and trust from the UK and all over the world. We tailor our brews, methods and recipes to each coffee, ensuring that you will receive its best presentation every time. Not sure what you want? We’ll happily guide you through what’s on offer.
What is Speciality Coffee?
Suffice to say that even within the coffee industry the definition of Speciality Coffee is a bit vague; but most will agree that it is coffee of exceptional quality, far above that more readily available on the High St or on the shelves.
For us Speciality Coffee is all about the fantastic and unique flavours that represent the coffee itself, combined with an understanding of its origin, and provided with honest, informative and exemplary service.
Some of these flavours may be a little challenging and are not for everyone, but that's OK, we don't all enjoy the same things.
What’s with the name?
Full Court Press describes a defensive tactic used in basketball. It’s a no compromise, all out approach.
This ties in to how we approach the quality of coffee we serve and the service we give. No compromise.
WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE COFFEE, IS THERE ANYTHING FOR ME?
Of course! Coffee’s not for everyone, and that’s ok. Although we are predominantly focused on coffee, we do have a range of locally made soft drinks, exceptional teas and hot chocolate, just ask us.
